  • are familiar with testing concepts and QA methodologies,

  • have a basic understanding of programming languages relevant to testing. 

Your responsibilities would be

  • Collaborating with team members: Working closely with developers and QA teams to assist in creating testing scenarios based on product specifications, including basic automated test scripts and manual testing scenarios. 
  • Executing testing scenarios: Regularly performing testing tasks (both manual and automated) and analysing the results to identify issues. 
  • Document testing phases: Helping create logs to document testing activities and any defects found during testing. 
  • Reporting issues: Effectively communicating bugs and errors to the development team. 
  • Troubleshooting: Supporting the team in troubleshooting issues that arise during testing. 
  • Participating in post-release testing: Helping conduct testing after releases to ensure everything is functioning as expected. 
  • Maintaining test scripts: Adjusting test scripts based on feedback and issues identified by users. 
  • Working with cross-functional teams: Engaging in collaboration with different teams to help ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. 

Skills and expertise you need to excel at this job.

  • Relevant experience: Some experience as a software QA tester or in a similar role is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with testing methods: Basic understanding of various testing strategies, such as exploratory and regression testing. 
  • Knowledge of tools: Familiarity with basic test case management tools and bug tracking software. 
  • Understanding of standards: Basic knowledge of standards like XML, HTML, and JSON. 
  • APIs awareness: Familiarity with APIs (HTTP methods, response codes, web services) and some understanding of development tools (e.g., Git). 
  • Communication skills: Good reporting skills and the ability to document findings clearly. 
  • Problem-solving mindset: Basic debugging skills and a willingness to learn how to use debugging tools.
