Customer Success Specialist

We are looking for a new customer success specialist to join our team!
At Better we are building software solutions that help medical teams improve patient care. Our advanced open-data medical platform and healthcare applications already support over 30 million patients’ electronic health records worldwide, making data quality our number one priority.
This is where you come in. As our customer success specialist, you will have a demanding multi-disciplinary role built on three pillars:
- Customer relationship: onboarding partners and customers, building trust, and maintaining strong long-term relationships.
- Data & application platform: understanding the Better Platform as data infrastructure, where users model and manage data and then build and run applications on top of that same data layer.
- Clinical context: working within the healthcare and clinical vertical, alongside providers and digital health vendors.
You will not need to be an expert in all three from day one, but you should be proficient in at least one, willing to learn the others, and proactive in growing across the space.
Your core mission is to onboard, activate, and grow our partners (ISVs) and customers (healthcare organisations) on the Better Platform. This means helping them onboard, develop, go live, adopt the platform deeply, and expand their use over time.
We are interested in candidates who bring most of the following skills:
- Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills: Ability to convey information clearly, present confidently, understand customer needs, and provide effective solutions.
- Customer-Centric Attitude: Strong focus on customer satisfaction and dedication to resolving issues promptly.
- Data & Technical Proficiency:
- Experience consuming and integrating third-party APIs, including multistep integration workflows; familiarity with API tooling such as Postman, Insomnia, Bruno, or Swagger/OpenAPI
- Working knowledge of authentication and authorisation mechanisms, including OAuth2 and JWT
- Solid understanding of the HTTP protocol – verbs, status codes, headers, query parameters, multipart bodies, authorisation schemes – and comfort using tools like curl
- Comfortable working in Linux environments, including basic shell scripting and service management
- Working knowledge of Docker (multi-container setup and networking)
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (SSH, proxies, DNS)
- Basic understanding of PKI concepts – certificate management, trust chains, keys handling
- Working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), including basic queries, joins, transactions
- Programming experience is a plus (Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar)
- Basic web literacy (browser console debugging, CSS, web server fundamentals)
- Experience with version control and code/resource governance practices (e.g. Git)
- Ability to author clear technical documentation
- Healthcare Knowledge: Familiarity with clinical workflows, healthcare standards, and digital health landscape is a strong advantage; a genuine willingness to learn the clinical domain is essential.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Analyse issues, identify solutions, and implement effective resolutions efficiently.
- Organisational Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with strong prioritisation skills.
- Ethical Standards: Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and high ethical standards, especially regarding patient data.
- Proficiency in English language, both written and verbal.
How will you drive success in this role through your daily actions?
- Customer onboarding & growth:
- Plan and execute onboarding processes, then drive activation and growth across the customer lifecycle.
- Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients achieve their business objectives with our platform.
- Product Knowledge:
- Maintain and expand knowledge of core product functionalities, openEHR standard, and Better Platform components.
- Proactively understand customer project requirements and execute onboarding processes.
- Create and maintain training materials (documentation, resources, videos) for customers.
- Client Engagement & Project Support:
- Organise and deliver training sessions and consultancy programs to enhance customer adoption.
- Identify functional requirements for project implementations and collaborate with development teams.
- Establish communication channels with customers and project teams for project updates and feedback.
- Mentorship & Strategy:
- Mentor new staff on Better product solutions to encourage independent work.
- Promote a supportive team environment focused on continuous learning.
- Process Improvements:
- Evaluate and improve internal processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
