We are looking for an experienced solutions architect to join our team!
At Better we are building software solutions that help medical teams improve patient care. Our advanced open-data medical platform and healthcare applications already support over 30 million patients’ electronic health records worldwide, making data quality our number one priority.
This is where you come in. We’re looking for a solutions architect who combines strong technical skills with empathy, curiosity, and clear communication. You’ll be working closely with our partners and customers, helping them navigate challenges and offering thoughtful, reliable support that reflects our commitment to continuous learning and improvement. You won’t just be solving problems; you’ll be building trust, contributing to a product that improves patient care, and shaping how we support the clinicians who use it every day.
Skills and expertise you need to excel in this position:
- 5+ years of experience in software or systems architecture, with hands-on design and implementation experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication in English and Slovenian
- Experience in writing technical documentation.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and cloud-native architectures.
- Proficiency with API design, microservices, middleware, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, data modelling, and data security.
- Strong decision-making, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and completeness in project deliverables.
How will you drive success in this role through your daily actions?
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to design scalable and secure technology solutions.
- Translate business requirements into technical architectures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Define solution roadmaps and recommend technologies, frameworks, and integration strategies.
- Create and maintain architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and design standards.
- Collaborate with development teams to guide implementation and ensure adherence to architectural best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and oversee cloud migration projects.
- Support pre-sales activities, RFP responses, and client solution presentations when needed.
