Medication Management Event

WHERE

41 Portland Place, London

WHEN

28 February 2023

Electronic prescribing and medication administration (ePMA) systems have become a norm in the UK hospitals. However, hospitals have different workflows and clinical guidelines, causing differences in how ePMA systems are used.

On 28 February 2023, Better Meds users will share some of their best practices and how they’re using different functionalities. We will also discuss future plans and innovations for ePMA development and how we can together contribute to improved patient safety with the help of digital tools.

Customers and partners about Better Meds

“Saving time was a major benefit for going with Better Meds, and of course medical safety and reducing the number of clinical incidents. From the doctor's point of view, we quickly saw a meaningful amount of time saved.”

Nicci Wilson, ePMA Programme Manager, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, Author's Designation

“Better Meds has made my life easier in many ways. From my experience, prescriptions on an ePMA are clear and exact, so I think that medication error risks have been reduced significantly.”

Dejan Branc, Nurse, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust

“We were already seeing an impact on patient safety with Better ePMA only having been in about 3-4 weeks. People seeing the change themselves whilst using the system has helped to build their confidence in what is being implemented. I see the benefits both from my ePMA lead perspective and my work as a clinician.”

Lex Moon, Lead ePMA Pharmacist, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, Lead ePMA Pharmacist

“I’ve found the system to be invaluable when completing audits and investigations; I’m able to see clearly what the medication was, who prescribed it, who stopped it and on what date, without having to distinguish the writing or signature. It’s much safer and enables a clear audit trail.”

Sharon Handley, Ward Sister, Wye Valley NHS Trust
