We are looking for an experienced UX designer to create new digital products and evolve existing ones. 
 
Summary
You will be designing next-generation digital tools for healthcare professionals that will improve the quality of care for patients. Your focus will be on finding ways to provide clinicians with the best presentation of their patient’s health data and helping them reduce errors in care by improving the ease of use of their digital tools.
You will be expected to study, understand, and internalize everyday work challenges of healthcare professionals and help develop products for healthcare environments.
The ideal candidate should bring previous experience in solving healthcare problems or show interest in digital product design for healthcare.

What you’ll do
  • Work together with the product team by contributing to all design stages, from research to creating personas, user stories, use cases, user journeys and flows, information architecture, wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, design specifications and hand-offs
  • Collaborate across development, research, and product management to assure the solutions align with user needs and business goals
  • Help set the vision for design and help oversee and mentor the work of more junior designers in defining the user experience
  • Plan, promote and manage on-site usability testing and user research endeavours
  • Give and receive feedback on design iterations
  • Document your research and deliverables
  • Communicate your design and specifications to engineers building them
  • Study and gain knowledge about relevant healthcare topics and present them to designers and other teams
  • Understand, leverage and influence our design system
 
Key qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience designing user experiences for digital products
  • Excellent understanding of design processes 
  • Ability to regularly iterate and validate your ideas
  • Experience with usability testing and user research
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluency in verbal and written English
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
 
What we also consider
  • Experience designing for healthcare is a big plus
  • Data visualization experience is a big plus
  • Advanced knowledge of layout, grid, typography, and motion is a big plus
  • Information technology or medical background is a plus
  • Experience with Sketch, Axure, and Principle or ability to prototype in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, AfterEffects, or other tools is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, product/interaction design, industrial design, architecture or related field/s is a plus

A portfolio of real (not conceptual) work is strongly recommended, preferably consisting of case-studies.
 
This is an on-site position. Candidates must be willing to work from Better’s offices in Ljubljana, Slovenia, at least three days a week.
