Business Development

Partner Development Manager

Ljubljana, Slovenia

At Better we are building software solutions that help medical teams improve patient care. Our advanced digital health platform and solutions already support over 30 million patients’ electronic health records across more than 20 markets worldwide, making data quality our number one priority.

As a Partner Development Manager you will grow Better’s business by selling through partners. You will be the bridge between partners and Better’s internal teams, carrying partner needs inward and Better’s capability outward, across three dimensions: enablement, coordination, and commercial ownership.

Your core responsibilities will be:

Partner management and development:

  • Agreeing yearly commitments with partners – typically a number of licences or a revenue figure – and defining the business plans to reach them (in line with the sales strategy).
  • Holding partners to their commitments: pushing when they are behind, having the difficult conversation when it is needed, and clearing the path so they can actually get there.
  • Owning the partner agreements process, from negotiations to signing.
  • Coordinating partner and customer contact – who talks to partners, about what, and when – to keep Better aligned and coherent in front of each partner.

Partner enablement and support:

  • Equipping partners with materials, training, joint go-to-market activities, and lead exchange, and helping them genuinely understand Better products.
  • Proactively flagging partner knowledge gaps and helping close them.
  • Coordinating training and certification programs with internal teams.
  • Translating partner needs into action across Product, Technology, Delivery, Customer Success, Marketing, and Sales, and coordinating support and technical escalations.

Building new partnerships in focus markets:

  • Working with all three partner types – ISVs and OEMs building their own products on Better’s platform, System Integrators delivering Better-based implementations, and Resellers – and tailoring the sales motion and commercial approach to each.
  • Guiding new partners through the partner journey, from first contact through onboarding and activation into ongoing growth, and negotiating and formalising partner agreements.
  • Representing Better in discussions with potential partners, building relationships that align with long-term business goals.

Skills and experience we are looking for:

  • A minimum of 5 years in the IT industry, ideally in partner/account management or related roles (e.g. sales, presales, business development, customer success).
  • The ability to make yourself visible and build relationships before they are needed – the role has no single home team and little formal authority, so the work gets done through people across the whole company.
  • The skill of earning collaboration rather than expecting it – being useful, clear about the shared goal, and easy to say yes to.
  • Confidence in holding difficult commercial conversations – firm on the commitment, genuinely helpful on the path to it, without damaging the relationship.
  • A customer-facing mindset: carrying the partner’s perspective and advocating for partners internally, even when it is the less convenient position.
  • Proficiency in English, another international language is a plus. Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (openEHR, FHIR) is a plus – deeper domain knowledge can be learned on the job.

What will you get as part of the Better team?

  • Full-time employment and other financial benefits: Enjoy a stable position with a range of comprehensive benefits tailored to enhance your work experience.
  • Flexible work environment: Embrace a high degree of autonomy with flexible hours and a hybrid workplace that suits your lifestyle.
