Better Studio Product Director
I have recently returned from EHRCON25 in Barcelona, and it was great to see the genuine sense of collaboration, openness, and shared purpose within the openEHR community. Open standards are not just seen as a technical goal, but as a movement built on trust, teamwork, and the belief that data should work for everyone.
At Better, we have always strived to help healthcare organisations, clinicians, and developers work together to turn data into meaningful change. This has also been the centre of my presentation at the conference, where I explored how openEHR and AI can cooperate to transform healthcare delivery. Too often, systems don’t speak the same language, leaving clinicians to navigate complexity instead of caring for patients. I presented how combining structured openEHR data, low-code development, and AI creates a foundation for intelligent, people-centred healthcare and a system that gives healthcare workers back their time and focus to care for patients.
This mindset of collaboration and empowerment is what guides our work with Better Studio. With every new release, we are trying to make our low-code platform more powerful and intuitive, and by doing so, help clinicians and developers work with data, automate logic, build their own digital solutions, and directly improve care pathways. The latest in these attempts is our Speech2Form, an AI-powered assistant that listens, understands, and transforms speech into structured clinical data in real-time. This is how we are making healthcare innovation accessible to everyone, not just a few experts.
All of this, the community, the innovation, and the commitment to open, future-ready technology, has recently been recognised on a global scale. Better has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: EMEA Healthcare Data Platforms for Providers 2025 Vendor Assessment. It is a great recognition that our vision and platform are among the best in the world, but it also reinforces our belief that progress in healthcare always happens when we work together, openly, across standards and borders.
